Tattoo Removal

For some, tattoos represent an impulsive decision that they later regret. For others, tattoos from their youth are simply no longer relevant to their lives or who they are today. Laser tattoo removal provides a solution for all.

Tattoos are permanent because the ink particles placed into the skin are too large for the body’s white blood cells to remove them. Lasers work by breaking these particles into tiny pieces, allowing for the body to remove them via its natural filtering system.

The size and location of the tattoo, the amount and type of ink used, and the depth of the ink in the skin will affect the clearance rate, and how many treatments are required.

Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers represent the gold standard for tattoo removal. With multiple wavelengths to choose from, operators can select the optimum wavelength that is most absorbed by a specific ink colour, customizing the treatment for each patient and each individual tattoo.

Most lasers have at least two wavelengths – 1064nm to target dark (blue, black) colours, and 532nm to target red inks. Advanced lasers with four wavelengths can target most multi-coloured tattoos, including dark colours, red, orange, green, blue, purple and yellow.

The TattooStar Combo is two lasers in one, combining both Nd:YAG (1064nm + 532nm) and Ruby (694nm) heads, plus a 585nm dye handpiece to effectively remove even the rarest and most stubborn inks.

The Iris Q-Switch Nd:YAG boasts an impressive 10mm spot size and high power, allowing for deeper penetration to reach the deepest of inks and offers advanced skin rejuvenation options additionally.
